Tips for Speaking Out Publicly

  • According to city guidelines, speakers will have three minutes to speak per item and will be able to donate time. Time may be donated for up to six minutes of donated time, for a maximum of nine minutes per individual speaker. Speakers wishing to donate time must coordinate with the city clerk prior to being called. All parties (speakers and time donors) must be present at the meeting to be eligible for donation of time.
  • Tell personal stories! The most powerful testimony is how these policies impact you, how they increase the danger of floods, fires, traffic, parking, or other infrastructure issues.
  • Have similar policies already harmed your home or neighborhood? If so, let council members know!
  • Any handouts or information you want to provide to the city council must be emailed to the city clerk by 12:00 PM on May 16.
  • Presentations contained on USB drives must be verified before they are shown.

REMINDER: Online registration for the council meeting closes at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, May 15.

We’ll see you at City Hall at 10:00 AM on May 16. Let’s work together in opposition to this destructive plan!
